Attendance and Absence
If your child is unexpectedly ill or unable to attend for any reason, please contact the school as soon as possible from 8:00am on the morning of the absence. It is crucial that both the school and you know the whereabouts of your child. If your child walks to school unaccompanied by an adult it is vital you let us know (you will be asked to give your written permission on a form that is available from the office and covers the entire academic year). Should your child then fail to arrive without the school knowing why, you will be contacted to check on their safety. Please help the school to keep your child safe.
Communications between home and school are vital and it is important that we know if your child is unable to attend school – failure to communicate this will automatically render the absence unauthorised. If you know that your child will not be in school, e.g. due to a medical appointment, we would appreciate it if you would send a note to let the school know in advance of the date and give the reason. Absence from school will only be authorised in exceptional circumstances.
