The following projects were developed through a whole school training initiative with Tony Minnion from Cloth of Gold South West exploring creative use of ICT. After the teachers were trained in using Adobe Photoshop elements they developed their own projects supported by Tony.

'Weaving Project'
Year 2

Artwork, created by pupils as part of a class weaving project, was digitally photographed, overlaid with their drawings then layered and adjusted on the computer experimenting with scale, colour, repeat and transparency. Finished pieces were combined then digitally printed onto a cotton satin fabric and made up into a curtain.

'Eyes'
Year 5

Pupils took digital photographs of large eye pictures that they had created in the classroom using a range of different collage materials. These were then overlaid with close-up photos of their own eyes. They then adjusted colour and transparency of the different layers within Photoshop Elements creating thirty uniquely different eyes.

'Sea Life'
Year 3

Pupils drew sea creatures and cut them out keeping both the stencil and the shape of their design. The shapes were then screen printed onto fabric overprinting yellows and blues to create the watery sea background. They then placed their stencils over carefully positioned fabric and wool scraps and digitally photographed them. These were then resized, repeated and layered onto a digital photograph of the screen print within Photoshop Elements.

'Classroom Banner’
Years 4, 5 and 6

Pupils brought observational line drawings of their class day along to the After School Art Club sessions which they then digitally photographed and coloured in on the computer. They then rescaled them and combined them with layers onto a photograph of a large collage of fabric scraps that they had created. These two banners were commissioned to decorate CPD Cornwall - the county Teacher Training Centre at the Berlewen Building, Pool.
